Guest Lectures and Seminars

Between 2017 and 2024, the heads of the Department of Differential Equations (DDE) organized - at varying intensity and in different formats - a departmental seminar, during which more than 50 talks were delivered.

On December 19, 2024, Prof. Jacek Jendrej (a laureate of the European Mathematical Society Prize and a guest of DDE) from Sorbonne Université gave a lecture titled Recent progress on the problem of soliton resolution, addressed to the entire community of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics.

On June 17, 2025, Prof. Adam Kanigowski (a recipient of, among others, the European Mathematical Society Prize, the Frontiers of Science Award, the International Stefan Banach Prize, and the Stefan Banach Prize of the Polish Mathematical Society) from the University of Maryland and the Jagiellonian University, gave a lecture titled Ergodic and statistical properties of slowly chaotic systems.

Moreover, since 2008 Prof. Vsevolod Vladimirov from DDE has been leading the seminar "Nonlinear Differential Equations: Symmetries, Ansätze, Solutions", and in 2025 a new seminar titled "Differential Equations" was launched under the supervision of Professors Lucjan Sapa, Vsevolod Vladimirov and Ivan Tsyfra.
